How does one transition to natural hair? I mean, for crying out loud, it’s been a relaxer I’ve been accustomed to. Sounds familiar? Find yourself saying you don’t know how to get this show on the road, how to make the pass over to being natural? Well, here are some tips for you. Previously, I wrote a few articles on transitioning, but everyone could use updates and encouragement. Here Leila aka the popular FusionOfCultures on Youtube is sharing the ins and out of doing it. Why I bother to include her video? Well she’s one of the queens of transitioning! Having done a steady transition for 2 years before doing a big chop, so she knows what she’s talking about and can help you.

Additonally to all transitioners (and even us seasoned naturals), her biggest advice is to:

  1. Deep Condition
  2. Maintain Moisture to keep elasticity, and also balance protein
  3. Use products that work for your hair!!

You can find more on Leila here:

  3. It takes mental preparation
  4. Good protective styling is a plus
  5. and tons of other articles to help the transitioner
