Who: My name is Saleemah Cartwright and I am the co-owner of Healthy Hair Journey Enterprises LLC and the Hydratherma Naturals Healthy Hair Product Collection.
Where: We are located in sunny Atlanta, GA!
What: HAIR, HAIR, HAIR and more HAIR! I have been in love with hair since I was a small child. I have worked as a hospice RN and I am a licensed cosmetologist. Currently, I am working full time with Hydratherma Naturals. This is my true love and passion. I love helping and educating others on health, beauty and overall wellbeing.
Business Philosophy: The number one purpose of our business is to educate women and men on healthy hair practices and healthy hair products. The combination of both will help individuals achieve their hair objectives. Philanthropy is another significant mission of Hydratherma Naturals. We donate a portion of our proceeds to many charities. Currently, we donate to15 charities/ associations and we will be expanding with our philanthropic efforts in the near future.
Target Audiences: Our Hydratherma Naturals Product line is for individuals who desire to get their hair in a healthier state. We all have diverse hair goals. Some want length, some desire thickness, many wish to transition from the use of chemicals and some want to maintain healthy hair with the use of chemicals (i.e. .hair color). Our products work best for those who are having difficulty maintaining moisture in their hair and for those who are having problems retaining length.
Products and Services Offered: We offer natural based healthy hair products such as hair cleansers, deep conditioning treatments, scalp treatments, moisturizers, hair oils, heat protectants and curly hair stylers. We also offer ancillary products such hair our cordless heating cap for deep conditioning the hair and our new flat iron chase comb which makes temporarily straightening natural hair textures a simple task.
How is your company different from the rest, what is it geared to do? Why was it created? As a cosmetologist, I noticed that excess protein can cause major hair breakage. I also noticed that too much moisture can also cause breakage. Our product line was developed to balance the moisture and protein levels in the hair. This balance will prevent breakage and contribute to length retention / increased hair thickness. With the use of our products over time, the hair will fall into a nice balance of moisture and protein. Many people don’t know whether their hair needs moisture or protein. We have a guide on our website that will help an individual tell which one their hair needs. Our products will help take the guess work out of it.
Highlight your top product/serviced. Our best seller is the Hydratherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion and our Hydratherma Naturals Hair Growth Oil. I suppose that these are our top sellers because many of our new customers have issues with maintaining moisture in the hair. These products are loaded with ceramides and help to completely eliminate dryness while keeping the hair soft and properly moisturized. Other customer favorites include our Follicle Mist, Amino Plus Protein Deep Conditioning Treatment, Protein Balance Leave In Conditioner and our SLS Free Moisture Plus Hair Cleanser.
Anything Upcoming? Yes! We are very excited about our new Hydratherma Naturals styling products that will debut this summer! We will also be expanding to more stores which will make purchasing Hydratherma Naturals products easier for our customers.
For the Type 4 hair family, what products from your line do you recommend would work best? Our entire product line works favorably on tightly curled hair textures. My hair texture is a 4a (edges and back) and a 3c in my crown area. Generally speaking, tightly curled hair tends to be drier on the hair ends. Moisturizing with our Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion and sealing in the moisture with the Hair Growth Oil will keep the hair very soft and properly moisturized. This can be done on wet and dry hair. I also suggest deep conditioning weekly with our deep conditioners. To maintain a nice moisture / protein balance, I suggest, alternating between our Amino Plus protein and our Moisture Boosting Deep Conditioning treatments weekly. Combing the hair while saturated with our deep conditioners will completely eliminate tangles / knots and allow for easier styling. Our SLS FREE Moisture Plus Hair Cleanser is much loved among those with very tight curls and kinks!

I’ve followed your hair journey on YouTube and your success has been phenomenal! Your products look great from the ingredients lists. Unfortunately I can’t get them in the UK and the shipping is very expensive! If you are ever looking to expand to the UK I would happily act as an agent, that’s how much faith I have in your products.

Hello Saleemah,
I did a rod set on my hair it turned out well except for that at my crown and the edges it seemed to get frizzy. I just wanted to know what you think would cause that?? I used a setting lotion and gel to do my set.
