I currently press and curl my hair. I have been doing this for over 20 years. I want to give my hair a rest from all of the heat of a press and curl. I use to get braids every year for a few months or so to let my hair rest from the heat. However, the tension on my edges began to thin them and I don't want to completely go bald in those areas. I am interested in the natural style. My problem is that I really don't know where to start or what products to use. I have heard about Kinky-Curly and Mineral Indulgence products but again, I'm not sure which would work for me. I guess I am just going to do a trial and error type thing. Any suggestions or feedback you could give would be deeply appreciated.

Hey..the KCCC should work pretty good..but since you'll be doing trial and error..My suggestion to you is to first go out and get a jar of the Eco Styler Krystal Clear gel (it's non alcoholic and also doesn't flake etc)…using this to define curls can give you an idea of what curls to expect with you do the rake and smooth technique once you finally get the Kinky Curly. Try the Eco Styler..just be sure to moisturize your hair by using a light leave-in and a light coating of Olive Oil. Try that out and if it fails..then we can look at other products including the KCCC..I just say start out with the cheaper alternative so you can judge from there how it should work. :)

    hey Afroniqurely you!

Im having the biggest problem right now. I think its shedding. I have type 4c coils and when ever i touch it, or even when Im putting it in a protective style, little coils just jump out. What do u think may be the problem?

Thanks for your feedback. I have shampooed my hair and am doing a deep conditioning overnight. I purchased the Eco Styler with Olive Oil that I plan to use on my hair in the morning. My concern is that I may possilbly have heat damage. Will the use of the Eco Styler help any with my hair reverting back? Will I have any curl definition?
